Castle Ward
Castle Ward in County Down is a wonderfully quirky 18th-century house on the shores of Strangford Lough, famous for being built in two entirely different architectural styles β classical on one side, Gothic on the other β reflecting the famously opposed tastes of its original owners. The estate, with its walled garden, lakeside walks and turreted towers, is as beguiling as the story behind it. More recently it served as a filming location for Game of Thrones.
