Charlecote Park

๐Ÿ›๏ธ House๐Ÿ“ Charlecote

Charlecote Park is a magnificent Tudor mansion set in an ancient deer park beside the River Avon in Warwickshire, with a legend that the young William Shakespeare once poached deer here before fleeing to London. The house, remodelled in the Victorian era by the Lucy family who owned it for centuries, is surrounded by Capability Brown-designed parkland where red and fallow deer still roam freely among ancient oaks.

Best for Shakespeare pilgrims and lovers of grand parkland and Tudor history.
