Tarn Hows

🌲 Nature📍 England

Tarn Hows is one of the most celebrated beauty spots in the entire Lake District — a jewel-like tarn set among wooded fells with a walking route that offers glorious views at almost every step. Though the landscape looks perfectly natural, it was actually shaped in the 19th century by Beatrix Potter's neighbour, and later acquired by Potter herself before passing to the National Trust. The reflections in the still water on a calm morning are simply breathtaking.

Best for walkers, photographers and those seeking peaceful Lakeland beauty.
