Wellington Monument
The Wellington Monument is a slender triangular obelisk rising 53 metres from the crest of the Blackdown Hills in Somerset, built to honour the Duke of Wellington's victory at Waterloo. Its hilltop position commands extraordinary panoramic views across the Vale of Taunton and beyond, and the surrounding National Trust heathland makes for a fine walk at any season.
